There was clear communication about the pickup at our resort. As others have noted, we arrived there an hour before the boat departed. But I prefer to arrive early and have time to look around and relax rather than be rushed. The boat ride itself was pleasant. The staff is friendly and entertaining. We saw several whales. The food and drinks were decent. Overall, we were very happy with the whole experience.

This was a great experience and I am very glad I did it. The crew was very friendly and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about the whales and I learned a lot. We saw several groups of whales, both humpback and gray. I would definitely recommend this tour.

It was at midday when it was the hottest. (February) The guides were excellent, knowledgeable, fun, and definitely entertaining! Good food/drinks and overall a great experience. Highly recommended! Oh yes – great music too!

Ivan and his crew were amazing. They made us feel like family and friends, knew when to play music and when to let nature speak for itself. The bartender made drinks perfectly and the rest of the staff was on it. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an excursion in Cabo.

The captain, the first mates, and the bartender were a blast. They kept it light and fun, but also shared some facts about the whales. They made sure we saw some amazing moments. A bit of luck was involved, but certainly enhanced by their knowledge of the waters.

Pez Gato Whale Watching Tour exceeded all expectations. The crew was friendly and helpful. Breakfast burritos and all drinks were provided. The guide was very knowledgeable about the whales. Lots of interesting information to go along with MANY whale sightings. We saw mothers with calves and groups of males playing. All great. They also took a nice set of photos of my wife and me, as well as all the whales we saw. I got all the photos online for only $35. Couldn’t recommend it more.

I had an amazing experience with many whales showing off their breaching and fin-slapping skills! Nacho was a great guide. The crew was generous in serving everyone drinks and snacks. Pezgato is very environmentally conscious and asked everyone on board to be careful with their food and containers so that nothing falls into the water.

Fabulous whale watching experience on the Pez Gato. The crew was excellent! Iván narrated the experience with great skill and a sense of humor. The Captain was respectful of the whales and did not chase them, yet still provided fantastic viewing opportunities. The highlight of the trip was a whale breaching very close to our boat! I can’t wait to go out on the Pez Gato again.

You'll enjoy a scenic cruise with unlimited drinks, light snacks, and a chance to watch humpback and gray whales as the sun sets over Cabo.

Whale season runs from December to April, when humpbacks and gray whales migrate through the area.

Yes, children are welcome. We recommend bringing a jacket, as evenings can be cool.

The tour lasts approximately 2 hours, not including transportation time.

While sightings are very frequent, we cannot guarantee them since they are wild animals.

About the tour

Hop aboard the Pez Gato and sail out to the Pacific Ocean to observe the annual migration of Baja’s Whales. You will get to have a close encounter with the gray, humpback and/or blue whales as they swim to the tropical waters surrounding Los Cabos. It is here where they give birth to their young along their yearly migration.

Observe mothers with their calves as our crew helps in identifying the different species and behaviors of these majestic mammals.

At the same time you will enjoy the beautiful sunset that this destination gives us, passing through some of the main beaches until the monumental Arch of Cabo San Lucas.

Duration: 2 Hours

Operates: From the first week of February through March 31.

Days of Operation: 5:00 pm in season (check availability). Three days a week: Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

Additional Info: If you have confirmed transportation, please be at the Lobby 5 minutes prior to your pick up time. Driver will be wearing khaki slacks, white polo and Pez Gato sign. If you are making your own way to the dock, please be at our check-in desk at least 20 minutes prior to departure. Pez Gato Check-in desk is located in Gali Plaza (local 39) across from the entrance to the Hotel Sandos Finisterra.

Transportation: Include transportation for an additional cost. Transportation must be confirmed at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour date to ensure service.
